SEPTEMBER starts on a Friday next year and that has thrown out the Noosa Country Show's normal scheduling.
Traditionally the show at Pomona has been held on the second Friday of the month, but the powers that be for some reason are not counting September 1 next year.
Noosa Council has receive advice that Friday, September 15, is the date for public holiday at this two-day event ending on the Saturday.
The Noosa Show Society is already working on another bumper program where the shire celebrates its rural roots.
A council spokesman said there had been formal notification from the Queensland Government that this date has been declared as the 2017 public holiday for the Noosa Shire.
Meanwhile the show society is keen to discuss greater community use of its Pavilion St grounds with interested groups or individuals.
The picturesque showgrounds was donated to Noosa back in 1908 and clubs who use the grounds include mower racing, tennis, squash and pony clubs.
The Noosa Track and Trails network has a camping stop point with horse tie-up yards on the showgrounds too.
