Noosa Tigers girl power set to take field

NOOSA Tigers push to have women take up AFL in numbers received an initial soggy setback with the bi wet washing out last week's Come and Try Youth Girls Football at the Weyba Rd footy grounds.

But undaunted the club is pressing on with registering interested youngsters who want to play the Australian game.

The new cone and try date is March 1 at 4pm.

So who can have a go at this sport that is growing in leaps and bounds?

The answer is quite a lot.

"We are welcoming all ages from U13's to U15's to U17's,” cTigers spokesman Mitch Woods siad.

"Come down, learn new skills and become a part of Youth Girls Football in 2018.

"Our wonderful youth girls coaches will show you the basic skills and exciting drills to kick-start your football participation.”

Meanwhile the Tigers under 18's season preparation kicks off tonight with training: 5pm to 6pm. There will be pizza, dinks and a discussion about the upcoming fixtures from 6pm to 6.30pm
