Old face set to rejoin Sunshine Coast Council

A FORMER advisor to developer Graeme Juniper is the latest face to be added to the Sunshine Coast Council corporate restructure now moving at pace after its original December 31 deadline has been dragged forward.

Debra Robinson is expected to start work in early December as Project Director responsible for providing "expert technical project management oversight, assurance and advice".

She was named the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Networks' 2006 Outstanding Business Woman of the Year.

Ms Robinson joined Juniper Developments from the former Maroochy Shire Council and has also worked with planners Project Urban.

She arrives at the Sunshine Coast Council from her current role as branch manager of Development Services at Brisbane City Council and before that as Queensland Urban Utilities manager of development services.

The Master of Business Administration also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Urban Studies) and a Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning.

The Project Director role includes management of council infrastructure projects as well as creating partnerships with state and federal governments and the private sector to meet the infrastructure needs of projected growth under the South east Queensland Regional Plan.

The council has also appointed a chief innovation officer, a role filled from last Monday by Scott Bourke who joins the organisation from his position as chief operating officer and entrepreneur-in-residence at the Beach City Group on the Gold Coast.

Dr Bourke holds a Doctorate of Business Administration (Entrepreneurship and Innovation focus - Swinburne AGSE) and Masters of Applied Finance (Macquarie).

Meanwhile Susan Flux, the former personal assistant to Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson, has left the organisation.

Ms Flux had previously served as personal assistant to Bob Abbott and before that to former Maroochy Shire Council mayor Joe Natoli.
