Harley rider seriously injured during Poker Run crash

A SERIOUS crash occurred on Saturday during the annual King of the Mountain Poker Run on Black Mountain Range Rd.

A motorcyclist in the convoy suffered multiple fractures and was taken to Nambour Hospital in a serious condition.

The man was then transported to a Brisbane hospital.

Cooroy Police Station sergeant Mal Scott said charges would not be laid at this stage, as it appears the motorcyclist crossed into the oncoming lane.

"It appears that the motorcycle had drifted onto the other side of the road going around a tight bend; we're not sure why at this stage," Sgt Scott said.

"At this stage we don't anticipate charges, certainly not on the (driver of the) car he ran into."

More than 400 motorcyclists took part in the 10th Annual Pomona Poker Run, which is the major fundraiser for the Cooroy-Pomona Lions Club.

Other motorcycle riders in the convoy that left Stan Topper Park in Pomona at 9am, finished their ride at the Country Life Hotel in Kin Kin.
