Pair of scissors delays flights as 2000 checked in Brisbane

A PAIR of scissors is to blame for flight delays and 2000 passengers being re-screened by Brisbane airport security on Monday morning.

A Brisbane Airport Corporation spokeswoman said the security breach at the international terminal was detected just before 9am, when the scissors were found in a bag going through a screening point.

Fairfax reports that  security were unable to find the owner of the bag, and it is not known if they have been tracked down.

Passengers on three flights due to board would be screened first, the airport spokeswoman said

"We'll always err on the side of caution. We apologise for any inconvenience. This is something we take very seriously," she said.
