Peregian set to strut its stuff for food and fashion
COLOURFUL fashions will be served up alongside delicious dishes as Peregian unites for a day on the Village Green on Wednesday for its annual Peregian Food Fashion and Fun event.
"It's like Spring Carnival, that's the best way I can describe it," said Evelina Jutbauge-Deely from Soul Sanctuary.
"Everyone's excited and happy and it's a really positive vibe."
Nine restaurants served a delicious two-course meal, ranging from slow cooked beef short rib rack, served with a drizzled smoky barbecue sauce and a side of house made pumpkin mash, to seared tuna with nicoise salad and salsa verde or a mezze platter. Desserts on offer include passionfruit roulade served with Turkish delight ice-cream and Persian fairy floss or a Bailey's-infused panna cotta accompanied with fresh strawberries.
While diners enjoyed their lunch, 12 fashion stores will be showcasing the latest designs for spring.
"Colour is the key this spring," said Evelina, who will join the models on the catwalk again this year.
"Bright colours, functional designs; bold, strong and feminine ... it's got a coast feel about it.
"It's functional and easy to wear which is absolutely perfect for the coast."
The fashion parade will be produced by Serenas Image with a diverse range of models, catering for groovy young chicks to advanced ladies of style.
Also on the catwalk will be designs by students of the TAFE College.
The event was organised by the Peregian Beach Business Association, runs from 11am to 2.30pm.
