Man is seriously injured following a car crash on Bruce Hwy

9am:

RACQ CQ Rescue is at the scene of a single vehicle car crash on the Bruce Highway at St Lawrence.

One male patient is seriously injured after the car he was driving crashed into a tree.

The helicopter landed at 8:05am and medical crews are currently working to stabilise the man for transport back to hospital.

 

8.20am:

The RACQ CQ helicopter is currently on scene at the site of the crash near St Lawrence.

The man, whose age is unknown, is still trapped in the vehicle.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man has a suspected fractured leg.

He said fire crews were currently on scene and removing him from the vehicle.

"One patient I believe hit a tree at speed, a male patient, he was unconscious," the spokesman said.

"Our road crews from Carmila and St Lawrence are currently on scene."

 

7.10am:

POLICE, ambulance and fire crews are currently at a crash on the Bruce Hwy.

A Queensland police media spokesman said that the car crashed into a tree not long before 7.05 this morning about 2km south of the St Lawrence turn-off.

It is believed that one person is trapped inside the vehicle.

The highway is currently open but is believed it will close soon as the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter lands to transport the patient.
