Pet pooch delivers rings at wedding

AS A professional photographer, Alexandra "Sandy" Kokas is usually found behind the camera at weddings.

On June 8, it was her turn to be the centre of attention as she walked down the aisle to marry Barry Magnussen, who is also a professional photographer, at the Ocean International.

The couple was attended by Heather Ball, of Sydney, and Darren Bell, of Brisbane.

"One thing that was different from anyone else is that one of our dogs, Miss Fontaine Kokas, now Kokas-Magnussen, drove the rings down the aisle before me in a blue Rolls Royce kid's car," Mrs Kokas-Magnussen said.

"The car was remote controlled and she sat there while my brother Neal drove it."

About 54 guests joined the happy couple for a wedding reception at the same venue.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Cairns and the Daintree, a trip that included overnight trips on a boat.

Mrs Kokas-Magnussen said she met her husband five years ago and their friendship had grown stronger until they fell in love.

"We spend every possible minute together," she said.

Those five years have included starting up a successful photography business and Mrs Kokas-Magnussen overcoming and managing four brain aneurysms.

Mr Magnussen introduced his bride to fishing - in local creeks, just off shore and on reef trips - a hobby Mrs Kokas-Magnussen has also fallen in love with.

Mrs Kokas-Magnussen is the daughter of Alex and Jo-Anne Kokas, of Glen William, NSW, and Mr Magnussen is the son of Roy and Shirley Magnussen, of Mackay.
