Pirates draw blood

Saturday the 8th of April saw the Noosa pirates travel to Kawana in a must win situation for the club.

The Pirates had been more than competitive this season but did not have a victory to their name.

Kawana had been the Pirates nemesis over the past few seasons so a more testing challenge for the Young Pirates could not be found.

Terrific defence and an outstanding performance by all concerned saw the Pirates come away with a resounding 26 points to 18 victory over the Dolphins.

Coach and supporters could not contain their delight as the club song was sung with Gusto not seen for quite some time

Try Scorers Jordan Remfries 4, Sam Burns 1, goals Dan Murphy 3.

In Division 2 the Pirates took on the Dolphins, and were confident of extending their win streak to 4.

The Dolphins handled the Blustery conditions better than the Pirates and although the Pirates led early, they were no match for the opposition as Kawana led at half time and extended their lead to be victorious by 28 points to 4.

Although defeated, the spirit within the team remains high.

Here's to an improved performance in the coming weeks

Try Scorers Ben Hayes 1

The Under 18 Pirates took on the Gympie Devils at Kawana and were unfortunate not to come away with the win.

Score were level with 3 minutes to play when some ordinary Defence let Gympie cross the try line to come away with a 24 to 18 win.

The boys need to realise that lapses in concentration can be very costly.

A busy week on the training track appears imminent for all concerned.

Try Scorers Mason Wikaira 1, Ben Butler 1, Darcy Brennan 1

Goals Ben Butler 3.
