Pisasale steps down from LGA positions as donations probed

IPSWICH Mayor Paul Pisasale has stood aside from two Local Government Association of Queensland positions pending an investigation into allegations he failed to declare donations.

LGAQ chief executive Greg Hallam said Cr Pisasale had voluntarily stood down from his positions on the LGAQ's superannuation board, LG Super, and its policy executive.

Mr Hallam said Cr Pisasale had informed the LGAQ late yesterday he would stand aside pending an outcome to the State Government probe.

"He voluntarily stood aside while the investigation is ongoing," Mr Hallam said.

Yesterday, it was revealed the Local Government Department would investigate whe­ther Cr Pisasale had disclosed donations received by his campaign fund Forward Ipswich.
