Police nab drink drivers, drugs and speedsters in road blitz

POLICE held a heavy presence on the Sunshine Coast on day one of Road Safety Week.

Unlicensed, disqualified and drunk drivers were nabbed across the region yesterday.

Police have provided their first breakdown of motorists failing to do the right thing on our roads in a 24-hour period.

 

1:25am 18-year-old female from Mooloolaba arrested for being drunk in a public place at River Esplanade, Mooloolaba.

9am 53-year-old man from Cedar Vale and 59 year-old Goomboorian man, 47-year-old Coolum man and 38-year-old Humpty Doo man charged with possessing dangerous drugs and possessing things in connection with dangerous drugs at Como.

9.15am 24-year-old Aroona man arrested for unlicensed driving at Bruce Highway, Beerwah

11.08am 28-year-old man from Maroochydore charged with disqualified driving at Bruce Highway, Sippy Downs

1:45pm 20-year-old Parklands man charged with drug trafficking (Cannabis) at Jacaranda Drive Parklands

2:09pm 34-year-old Blue Water Park (Townsville) man charged with unlicensed driving at Caloundra Rd, Little Mountain

3.47pm 20-year-old female charged with unlicensed driving at Bruce Highway, Yandina

4.20pm 34-year-old man charged with unlicensed driving at Bruce Highway, Yandina

4.20pm 34-year-old man from Nambour charged with unlicensed driving at Bruce Highway, Yandina

7.10pm 62-yearold man charged with drink driving at David Low Way, Marcoola, with an alleged blood alcohol reading of .093%

9.50pm 30-year-old female charged with drink driving at Elizabeth Way, Nambour with alleged blood alcohol reading of .112%
