Popular pub undergoes $1.8m reno
AFTER a huge $1.8 million makeover, Chancellors Tavern in Sippy Downs will unveil its new look this Thursday, December 18.
The Sunshine Coast hotspot and favourite of nearby SCU students has been completely renovated with a new outdoor beer garden, dining room and gaming area.
The old drive-through has been removed to make way for a sports bar with an industrial feel, casual seating and eight screens for sport; plus a TAB area featuring three 75" TVs.
While the dining room has been overhauled with new light timber furniture and colourful wallpaper and will be a laid-back space with a tropical Sunshine Coast feel that opens out onto the beer garden.
The kids will be catered to also with a large play area complete with interactive wall panels, slides and a play structure.
The menu has had a re-vamp as well and will offer pub classics like burgers, parmies, pizza and salads, alongside new dishes such as a Moolooaba parmy, Mooloolaba prawn cocktail, curry cauliflower croquettes and Cornflakes coated chicken wings.
On the drink front, expect the usual line up of beer, wine and spirits, as well as an array of frozen cocktails: pina colada, Aperol spritz, white peach sangria, margarita and frose.
The venue will open with a party for locals from 4.30pm-8.30pm this Thursday (bookings a must on their website), before they host a family fun day on December 20 with free face painting and balloon artistry.
