QUEENSLAND Rail is refusing to hand over full versions of documents relevant to an investigation into how the transport authority bungled the opening of the Redcliffe Peninsula rail liner last month.

A driver shortage led to widespread commuter chaos across south east Queensland with swathes of services being cancelled,

Today Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk circulated a press release in which she stated the Commissioner running an inquiry into the issue had been prevented from accessing full versions of the documents he needs to undertake his investigation.

"I met with Commissioner Phillip Strachan to discuss his Inquiry into Queensland Rail this afternoon," the Premier said.

Commissioner Strachan advised me that key documents provided by QR to date had been "heavily redacted".

However, he advised that he had a positive meeting with QR this morning following the announcement of increased powers to undertake the Inquiry.

I have assured Commissioner Strachan of my Government's full cooperation, including the provision of Cabinet documents.
