Recycling company charged over storage of waste
AN AWARD-winning company and its CEO have been charged with offences relating to the storage and disposal of waste products.
Hahn Environmental Services has been charged with carrying out an activity, namely the storage of regulated waste, without being a registered operator or operating under a registration certificate.
It is also charged with 12 counts of failing to provide prescribed information to the Department of Environment and Heritage.
CEO Allan Hahn Lear has also been charged with failing to ensure the company complied with the Environmental Protection Act.
The charges relate to activities allegedly carried out at Glenview in 2012 and 2013.
The matters are due for mention in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 11.
Hahn Environmental Services, which specialises in oil recycling, was named enterprise of the year at the 2011 Sunshine Coast Business Awards.
