Man leaves behind fiancee and 18-month-old son
A TRAGIC accident at the Gracemere Saleyards on Tuesday morning left Bryson Mayne with critical head injuries, and he passed away later that day.
The Rolleston man, in his late 20s, leaves behind his fiancée Amanda Golding and their 18-month-old son, Wyatt.
Bryson was the first one to hold his newborn son when he was born on January 1, 2013, and was also the one to pick out his name.
Rolleston Hotel publican Kay Becker has known Bryson his whole life, and said he was loved and respected by everybody.
"The whole town is in absolute shock," she said of the tragedy.
"He was a dynamic young man with so much to offer.
"He was just a good, honest bloke."
Bryson was born and bred in Rolleston, attending the local primary school before heading to Rockhampton Grammar School for his secondary education.
Post-school he returned to Rolleston to work on cattle properties but was working as a truck driver for a local transport company at the time of the accident.
"The Maynes are a long- standing family in the Rolleston district," Kay said.
"When a community is as small as it is and the family has the kind of standing they have, it's just felt by everyone."
The Morning Bulletin's attempts to contact Bryson's family were unsuccessful.
