Santa Paws Christmas event is purr-fect for pets

Even pets can get into the Christmas spirit.
Even pets can get into the Christmas spirit.

A SUNSHINE Coast business and a pet rescue group are joining forces to fund "furever homes” for pets this Christmas.

Santa Paws is coming to Caloundra Garden and Pet Supplies for a "selfie” event with a difference.

Santa Paws doesn't care if your pet has been naughty or nice this year. He loves animals and welcomes pets of all shapes and sizes.

The event on Saturday, December 3, at Caloundra Garden and Pet Supplies in Baldwin St will raise funds for Queensland non-profit organisation Silver Lining Pet Rescue.

Photo times begin at 10am and run until 2pm.

For a small donation, pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets along in their cutest or craziest pet outfits for a photo with "the man in the red suit”.

Families must book in advance and can choose to take their own photograph for $5 or have a professional photographer create a personalised Christmas card for $10, available for collection in store the following week.

All proceeds will be donated to Silver Lining Pet Rescue.

The rescue group is foster care-based and seeks to help overflowing shelters by providing a "silver lining” to pets that can no longer remain in their current home, or face uncertain futures in local pounds.

Staff are excited about the upcoming event, and are providing free face painting and kids' activities.

A vegan sausage sizzle will operate, and a vet nurse will be on site to answer all your pet questions.

Make a booking on 5341 8001.
