Search around Mount Morgan being conducted for missing duo

POLICE are this morning following fresh leads for missing Rockhampton duo Chantal Barnett and Robert Martinez with authorities conducting searches in bush land around Mt Morgan.

Police have been prompted to search Tipperary Road in Mt Morgan after information came to light a silver sedan seen had been seen in the area around the time of the pair's disappearance in early March.

Robert Martinez, 26, and Chantal Barnett, 27, were last seen in the Rockhampton/Yeppoon areas in late February or early March.

Concerns were raised after the pair failed to make contact with family or friends.

Rockhampton CIB and members of the Homicide Investigation Group continue to investigate the couple's disappearance and while they are pleased with information received from the public, they are still encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

"We again reiterate that regardless of how trivial you think the information might be, please come forward and let us know," Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon says.

Anyone with information that could help police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
