Second Aussie couple killed in MH17 crash identified

DUTCH authorities have identified the remains of another Australian couple who were on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.

Victorian couple Maree and Albert Rizk were among the 38 Australian citizens and residents killed when MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine last month.

They are the second Australian couple to be identified.

The family said in a statement they were glad their loved ones were finally coming home.

"We wish to thank all those who have helped identify our parents, Maree and Albert, whom we miss so dearly," the family said.

"Our thoughts are also with all the families affected by this tragedy.

"We look forward now to the return of our parents and hope that all the families will soon have their loved ones returned to them."

Dutch authorities, who are in charge of the forensic process, have identified 127 people, including passengers from Malaysia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, Belgium and Germany.
