They've seen the world, but now it's time to see Australia
ROSS Strelow and his wife Colleen have seen the world, but have missed out on Australia.
After working for 52 years, Ross has decided it's time to retire and see what's in his own backyard.
"We will travel more around Australia which we haven't done ... and learn how to relax," Ross said.
Ross, who born and raised in Rockhampton, began working when 15 years old and hasn't stopped since.
He worked as an accountant until a visit to America in 1988 changed his mind about his career.
Ross, 67, and Colleen, 68, decided to try their hand in the travel industry, and bought Travelscene.
They've owned the business for the past 22 years and will be selling up this week to head into retirement.
The couple, who have been together 46 years, managed to see most of the world with their travel business.
"We've seen most countries in the world - South America, Russia, South Africa, Europe - I think Africa is my favourite trip," Ross said.
But it's time for the couple to relax and see the sights in their own country.
Ross says now is the time to retire while they are in good health and can travel the country.
The couple plan to start their adventure in Western Australia and see what happens from there.
"We can enjoy each other and have time to relax, not have to worry about carrying on a business," Ross said.
