Series of search warrants sees four men on drug charges

ILLICIT drugs valued at about $200,000 won't find their way on to the Coffs Coast streets after a series of search warrants were executed by Strike Force Merry detectives.

Extensive investigations followed by a series of search warrants at North Boambee, Upper Orara, Korora, Coffs Harbour, Sawtell and the Sydney suburb of Sans Souci has resulted in four men being charged with a number of offences, including supply a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and possess prohibited drug.

Detectives attached to the Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command established Strike Force Merry in October 2013, to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in the Coffs Harbour area.

Strike Force Merry detectives, together with the Police Dog Unit, executed a search warrant at about 8.50pm on Wednesday at a home in North Boambee.

They found and seized over 1.5kg of methylamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash.

On Thursday detectives executed six additional search warrants at various premises.
