FEDERAL Workplace Relations Minister Bill Shorten has urged the labour movement to keep the faith in the Gillard Government ahead of the next election.

During the annual Light on the Hill speech in the New South Wales city of Bathurst last night, Mr Shorten issued a call to arms to the party faithful.

Encouraged by the Government's recent surge in the polls, he urged Labor members to maintain their convictions and have faith in the Gillard Government.

He also used the speech to spruik Labor's policy ambitions, highlighting increased superannuation and the National Disability Insurance Scheme as two key planks of the party's vision.

"We can win, we must win, all we need is courage," he said.
