Sizzling shows giving theatre fans something to talk about
IT may be winter, but a number of sizzling hot productions are giving Brisbane theatre-goers plenty of bang for their buck.
With the nouveau circus of Empire stunning Spiegeltent crowds, an Australian Burlesque Festival ready to fan the flames and masochistic masterwork Venus in Fur premiering at QPAC, it's not so much the River City as the Raunchy City.
"I think there's a lot of interest in sex and how we represent it onstage," said Libby Munro, currently rehearsing the award-winning Venus in Fur for the Queensland Theatre Company.
"We're becoming more comfortable with ourselves."
