Skate caddy boosts fun factor on golf course
A FORMER electrical engineer, turned nutritionist, has helped come up with the perfect boys' toy the girls are sure to love too - the Golf Skate Caddy.
Douglas Mizzi, from Mooloolaba, has spent years perfecting the design of the electric skateboard that makes you feel like a surfer and is designed for the golf course.
Now the final product is on the market and gaining international interest.
Mr Mizzi said he had already sold 400 units to American customers and had huge interest in Australia.
"The response has been overwhelming," he said.
The Golf Skate Caddy isn't just fun and easy to manoeuvre around the golf course, it is functional and leaves less of an imprint on the environment.
"They have 82% less impact on the golf course and take up less space (than the golf buggy)," Mr Mizzi said.
At $4350, the Golf Skate Caddy might not be affordable for most dads this Father's Day, but Mr Mizzi said golf courses were buying them to rent out to members.
He perfected the design while working with Matthew and Daniel Quinn from a Gold Coast electric skateboard company.
And it has many extra features, including an Esky and a ball holder.
