GO THE Cowboys.
Yes, it is exciting that this year will be the first in NRL history where we will see an all Queenslander grand final with the Brisbane Broncos coming up against the North Queensland Cowboys next weekend.
But, I am more excited that this might be the year Johnathan Thurston's troupes can finally clinch that elusive premiership cup.
I was caught up in the magic of Riverfire on Saturday night, so didn't get to witness the epic game the Cowboys battled out against the Melbourne Storm first-hand.
Instead, my husband and I were glued to the NRL app with live updates and cheered every time their win margin jumped up.
I have always had a soft spot for the Cowboys, I guess you could say they are "my team".
Year after year I have watched them rise with great anticipation into the top eight, only to fail at the final few hurdles - often in controversial circumstances - and not be able to clinch that sweet, sweet victory.
Maybe this will be their year.
Sure, the Broncos have the backing of premiership royalty Wayne Bennett to back them up.
But the Cowboys have been well on form, especially since they reached the final eight.
Not a betting girl by any means, I snuck a peek at the odds put out by various agencies a week out from the big night and they are perfectly matched.
What is more exciting than a game that could go either way?
I, however, will be proudly donning the blue and gold and trying hard not to wake up the kids during the game.
Please guys, bring one home for the fans.
