A MOTORCYCLE rider has been caught speeding at nearly 200kmh on the Bruce Hwy as police start an Easter long weekend safety blitz.

A speed camera on the highway at Landsborough clocked the rider travelling at 193kmh in a 110kmh zone.

The rider was one of more than 3,400 vehicles detected speeding across the state on Thursday.

Police performed 11,000 random breath tests and 41 people were charged with drink driving.

During the Easter Break, extra police will be out in force across Queensland targeting high-risk road user behaviour including the Fatal Five: speeding, drink and drug driving, distracted driving, fatigue and failing to wear a seatbelt.

The Easter Break phase of the Road Safety Campaign will continue until Easter Monday.
