Spirit and goodwill help feed the needy

A past Noosa Waters Christmas flotilla shows some festive spirit.

IN NOOSA, there is a special Christmas spirit laid on by the Anglican Church aimed at warming the heart by way of the stomach.

The Anglican Church of Noosa is once again hosting its Australian Christmas Feast for anyone who turns up at noon on December 25, at 17 William St, Tewantin.

This year the dinner will be a hot meal, based along traditional lines, with a sumptuous dessert to follow.

The meals are facilitated by the gracious support of the Tewantin RSL Club, Tewantin Noosa Lions and donations from local businesses, along with support by local parishioners and the hard work by many volunteers who have been planning and preparing for some months now.

All volunteers have made themselves freely available so that those who turn up will enjoy a wonderful Christmas meal.

Last year the church provided 140 meals to locals who were not otherwise committed on the day, either 'home alone' or without family and friends."

This is the 12th year the church has provided a free Christmas day dinner for locals.

Volunteers have also been wrapping Christmas presents - all of them donated - for the special Christmas Day giving.

For more information or to offer to help out, please phone 5449 8009 or visit the church's website www.anglicanchurch noosa.org.
