Students' VR art competition: a world first
Noosa District State High School's Junior Secondary Campus began a world first today, partaking in a virtual reality art competition run by Create Noosa.
The Pomona Campus students showcased their artistic talent using high tech virtual reality creative tools, with their finished products soon to come up against other students in the Noosa region as part of the competition.
The students have the chance to win a HTC Vive virtual reality system and a Wacom drawing tablet.
The infinite 3D canvas, total freedom of movement and powerful creative tools that produce photorealistic results, all allowed for the students to extend their artistic expression and storytelling in a classroom setting unlike anything they had ever experienced or dreamed possible.
Light painting and sculpting talents were on show today with teacher Adam Baker impressed with his students' skill.
