Suns injured Lynch and Rischitelli to be sidelined long-term
SCANS today on Suns emerging tall forward Tom Lynch and midfielder Michael Rischitelli are expected to confirm extended periods on the sidelines.
Lynch was subbed out of Saturday night's 43-point loss to Essendon at Etihad Stadium in the second term and was on crutches after the game with possible posterior cruciate ligament damage.
He is likely to miss several weeks, a situation that would test the club's depth of talls given Charlie Dixon's ongoing ankle injury and the loss of Zac Smith for the season.
Rischitelli was thought to have broken his arm in a third quarter collision with Alywn Davey.
While Lynch stayed in Melbourne for his scan, Rischitelli flew back to Brisbane yesterday and will learn the extent of his "badly damaged" elbow today.
The team's challenge against the Bombers was also hampered by foot injuries to Tom Murphy and Joel Wilkinson.
The good news for Suns coach Guy McKenna was that Karmichael Hunt, Nathan Bock, Greg Broughton, Jared Brennan, Steven May and Seb Tape all played in the reserves yesterday and should be available for selection against the Crows after next week's bye.
