Sunshine SLSC's big signing

IN A boost for Sunshine Beach Surf Lifesaving Club's already strong sporting stocks, the club has appointed a new head coach for the 2017/2018 surf sports season.

For the previous two seasons ex-Olympian and Australia's most successful lifesaving competitor Clint Robinson, has been in place as head coach at Sunshine Beach SLSC.

But with Clint moving on to new challenges after the recent Australian championships, it was time for a new face to head up the coaching team.

The club is delighted to have secured the talents of Josh Minogue, ex-ironman series competitor, Coolangatta Gold winner and Fox Sports/WIN News sports presenter.

President Craig Law said he brings many years of competition experience with him and has "a young, fresh approach to coaching and surf club life which is sure to resonate with our team of nippers and cadet competitors who have enjoyed so much success in previous years at branch, state and Australian level.”

"I'm very pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Minogue to the position of head coach for Sunshine Beach SLSC.

"Josh has a rich history in lifesaving through his achievements as a competitor, junior development coaching and commentary for both Fox Sports and SLSA.

"We look forward to seeing Josh kick off in the role from May. Welcome Josh.”
