BREAKING: TOMORROW will be a good day to throw a sickie if you're a surfer on the Sunshine Coast.

Already waves have started to trickle in to the points at Noosa and other spots protected from the easterly wind on the Sunshine Coast.

Swellnet forecaster Ben Matson said the best of the waves will come tomorrow morning and hang around for Thursday with "strong, unreal waves on the points".

There were some nice waves on the points at Noosa early this morning.

"We're looking at a Wednesday morning peak across south east Queensland," he said.

"Exposed beaches should see building surf through Tuesday, peaking at a solid five to six feet at the height of the swell on Wednesday.

"This swell event will then ease steadily through the rest of the week."
