That’s life down by the river

HEAD north to Noosaville for a change of scenery and pace these holidays.

Noosaville is a lively centre offering holiday accommodation, aquatic activities, bars and restaurants and is centred around the sparkling waters of the Noosa River.

A popular spot for locals and repeat visitors, Noosaville is ideal for families as it offers safe swimming spots and a laid-back, friendly atmosphere.

Shady trees line the Noosa River foreshore, so it's just right for a barbecue.

There is a great children's play area and exercise equipment for adults.

A winding path alongside the river leads walkers past the various boating alternatives to investigate the magnificent beauty of the river.

Across the road, Gympie Tce and Thomas St are popular "eat streets", with cafes and restaurants serving up tastes from around the world as well as contemporary Australian fare.

Choose from relaxed, budget eateries and award-winning restaurants.

Indulge in a seafood platter or your favourite drink as you take in the water views.

Or take a picnic to the riverfront park along Gympie Tce. Feeling more adventurous?

Hire a jetski, boat or kayak to explore the river, or board the Noosa ferry to travel between the Noosa Marina and Hastings St.

On Sunday mornings, visiting the markets is a must.

The Noosa Marina has art, craft and local produce on the deck, or drive to the Noosa Aussie Rules Football Club on Weyba Rd for the Noosa Farmers Markets.

The markets boast fresh coffee, bread, cheeses, organic produce, marinades and sauces, nuts and seeds, olives and tapenades, herbs and just-caught seafood.
