Thigh gaps are out, this is the new celeb selfie craze

FIRST  came the thigh gap. That was quickly followed by the ab crack, but now a worrying new Instagram craze sees super-slim celebrities reveal their ribcages.

Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Myleene Klass are amongst the famous faces who have donned barely-there bikinis that showcase their protruding bones.

Victoria's Secret model Bella stunned fans with a holiday picture that showed her kneeling on the sand in a black crochet two-piece.

The 20-year-old catwalk muse could be seen leaning forward to accentuate her extremely trim tum and ribs.

Bella previously told Harper's Bazaar that she keeps in shape with "green juices, ginger shots and sautéed kale."

But some fans were shocked at her slender figure, with one commenting on her Instagram snap: "She looks sick/unhealthy… not in a good way".

While another added: "Damn, you really need some food."

Fellow supermodel Emily Ratajkowski came under fire for her swimwear shot.

The 25-year-old "Blurred Lines" babe posted an image on Instagram that sees her posing in an olive green halterneck bikini and matching pants.

However, some social media users voiced concerned about her protruding bones and urged her to put on weight.

"I can see her ribcage here," commented on fan, while another added: "Please don't take it as an insult but you need to put on about five to 10 pounds."

Closer to home, Brit stunners Myleene Klass and Millie Mackintosh have been flaunting their gym-honed bodies - and ribs - online.

Myleene, 39, shared a picture of herself sunbathing by a pool in Dubai in a bright red bikini that had a daring cut-out around the bust.

The mom-of-two recently told the Daily Star that she stays in shape by gardening.

She explained: "I do not stop moving - ever.

"If I feel the pounds creeping on I get the lawnmower out for half an hour!"

Meanwhile, fitness fanatic Millie Mackintosh exercises four to six times per week and has ditched all fatty or fried food from her diet.

The 27-year-old reality star, who posts candid bikini shots of her noticeable ribs and slender legs on Instagram, has previously hit back at claims she is too skinny.

"It's disappointing that people are ready to criticise," she told MailOnline.

"I am naturally slim and think there is a horrible assumption that if you are thin and work out, you must have some kind of issue with your weight."

Rita Ora and Nicole Scherzinger have also revealed their protruding rib cages on social media.

Pop icon Rita, 26, shared an image of herself sunbathing that sparked concern amongst her fans.

Is it just me or does her stomach look really weird," commented one Instagram user, while another added: "I feel that her rib cage is extremely protruded and to me that is not appealing."

Slim "X Factor" judge Nicole has previously revealed she keeps in shape by eating raw food only.

The 38-year-old singer told Daily Express: "My healthy diet tips would be to try to eat smaller portions, but eat often."

Lewis Hamilton's ex recently flaunted her bikini body while holidaying in Ibiza.
