Throw a line in from the land

FISHING during the school holidays is a great way for the whole family to get out and get amongst the action.

Land-based fishing is by far one of the more popular styles, with it being so easy to pull up on the side of the bank and throw a line in.

Both Noosa and Maroochy rivers are fishing very well land-based, with anything on the cards from bream, whiting, trevally, flathead and jacks.

Up around the Noosa River Mouth has been firing for whiting, bream and flathead on the run in tide with live worms and peeled prawns working best.

Upriver the surrounding jetties at the Noosa Marina have seen some quality bream, flathead and trevally caught in the early hours of the morning.

Further up the deeper holes next to the Noosa Barges have played host to some quality mangrove jacks and big flathead on live baits and mullet strips.

In the Maroochy River; jewfish, flathead, whiting and tailor have been hanging around the River Mouth on the top of the tide.

The rock wall along Bradman Ave near the Motorway bridge has been producing good size bream, with the odd fish getting caught up to 40cm, nice size Gt's have been moving through on the tides also with 3" size shad tail soft plastics being to there liking.
