RUMOURS The Cat Empire will headline this year's Caloundra Music Festival have been confirmed with the announcement of the 2016 line-up.

The Melbourne outfit wrote on its Facebook page in May that it would be playing the "Caloundra Festival" this year. Official confirmation came with the complete line-up, which has now been released.

The Cat Empire will join international acts out of the US including Michael Franti & Spearhead, UK acid jazz band Incognito, and household Australian names including Daryl Braithwaite and Guy Sebastian.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the festival, held at Kings Beach from September 30 to October 3, and festival director Richie Eyles says the line-up was the "biggest and best ever".

It'll be an eclectic mix, with everything from the instrumental beats of roots ensemble Blue King Brown to melodic tones of Paul Dempsey (also the Something for Kate front man) and Aussie rock and later synth-pop icons since 1977, Icehouse.

Blues and folk legend Harry Manx will also join San Francisco R&B legends Tower of Power and New Orleans native Erica Falls.

While the festival is still three months away, Coast businesses are already benefiting, with a Kawana company recently awarded the exclusive contract to produce the festival's merchandise.

Red Energy Promotions owner and director John Leach said his company would produce a big range of merchandise for the tenth anniversary event, including CMF branded singlets, full-colour trucker hats, muscle tops, tees and guitar-shaped key rings.

Day tickets, season and weekend passes are on sale now.
