TNT Heat see off the rain to get results

OUR Tewantin Noosa two U13 sides have been playing some great cricket this season and they have certainly been involved in some close matches of late.

The TNT Heat took on Maroochydore Yellow at home in a rain-shortened 24 over match. A blazing (30no) from Ethan Hozier was a highlight of Heat's total of 111, with Cooper Langan, Ollie Boulton, Dan White, Elliot Hill and Cade Holeszko also chipping in. A Maroochy win looked likely when they were 1-57 after 12 overs, but Aidan Stafford-Johns (2-4) and Shane Dunning (2-7) took four wickets in three overs to swing the balance back in TNT's favour. The opposition regrouped, needing nine off the last over, but Cade bowled brilliantly to bring the victory home for TNT.

The U13 TNT Storm played away against Maroochydore Blue who set an imposing target of 5-183 off 30 overs. Blake O'Donnell (2-32) had the best figures while Kuyan Davidson was very economical. The Storm chase started with a 25 run opening partnership between Seamus McDermott (18) and Kuyan (11) before wickets fell regularly. Ben Stewart (34no) and Connor Gipters (15) tried hard, but ran out of overs to finish at 9-132.

TNT U14 took the first innings points on Day One of their two day game v Flinders. Flinders struggled against a tight attack and great fielding to be all out for 110. TNT's best bowlers were Tom Green (2-1 off three overs), Max Cooper (3-27 off 6) and Harry Ladd (2-3 off 6). Cade North took two great catches. In reply, TNT have passed Flinders score with Aiden Muras (37), Cooper Lea (35no) and Harry Sheppard (25) setting up an opportunity for to push for outright points.

Choosing to bat on a damp Dale Officer Oval, with a solid start from Harrison Lea (25) and Harry Wilkinson (16), saw the U16 TNT storm in a solid position. A batting collapse then saw them limp to 6-139 with Corey Flood (30 off 99 balls) holding down one end so that Cody Wright (26) could score quickly at the other. Quick wickets are needed on day two.

One victory and one loss in the U11 competition. U11 Lightning won the toss, bowled and dismissed Caboolture White for 56. Oliver took a great outfield catch and two wickets with Charly also taking two. Bailey, Harper, Jacob, Lachlan and George all took one wicket in a great bowling and fielding display. In the other match, reduced to 18 overs, TNT Storm posted a respectable 2-83 to fall short of Caboolture Maroon's 7-99 by 16 runs.

The TNT Under 12 Storm played Flinders at Flinders and, batting first, had many contributors in their total of 5-200. Hunter Smith top scored with 57, 28 of those from his last eight balls. Harrison Hegarty was superb with 28. Storm bowled magnificently to have Flinders all out for 73 with Harry (2-4).

TNT Under 12 Lightning posted 4-104 thanks to sensible batting from Claudia Toohey, Ben Anderson, Lilly Baker, Bo Seetoo and Tom Daly. Luke Sheppard (27no) and Colin Todd (11) added valuable runs in the final overs. Their opponents, Cooroy, were favoured to win when they were 4-58 at the drinks break, but TNT held their nerve to dismiss them for 91 in a cliffhanger.

Luke (3-6) and Jack Cross (1-4) returned great figures, while Ben, Lilly, Tom and will Malone got the others.
