Torture, drugs and weapons charges for Mackay men

TWO Mackay men allegedly forced their way into a unit on Shute Harbour Road in Cannonvale, and attacked a man inside.

Police say the victim, 36, was tied up and then beaten so much that he was taken to Proserpine Hospital for cuts to his head, feet and hands.

Officers interrupted the torture while in the area for an unrelated reason and responded to sounds from the fray.

The two alleged attackers were taken into custody.

Both Mackay men are to be charged with deprivation of liberty, assault causing bodily harm, torture, entering a dwelling with intent and illegal possesion of a weapon.

The 27-year-old will also face a drugs charge.

They are expected to face court in Proserpine this morning.
