Tracey opens the door to solo trips for Aussie sheilas

TRACEY Neagle noticed several years ago that many single women lacked the confidence to travel alone.

The cost of solo travel also was becoming exorbitant.

"I realised that a lot of women weren't comfortable travelling solo or were tired of being penalised for not wanting to 'twin-share'," she said.

"A lot of women also don't know where to begin or are too time-poor to plan an international holiday."

The Sunshine Coast woman decided to establish her Boutique Voyage tours in 2010 to cater for female travellers wanting to see the world with like-minded companions in small groups ranging from six to 12 people.

Tours include 5-star boutique hotels and dining experiences that won't break the bank.

"Boutique Voyage tours are very affordable for the amount of extras they include," Tracey said.

Tracey has been in the travel and tourism industry for more than 10 years and has a passion for sharing experiences with adventurous spirits.

The one-off tour prices include sightseeing and shopping while also ensuring women enjoy traditional regional cuisines and boutique accommodation.

"Travelling in luxury is often something people believe they can't afford if they're on their own," Tracey said.

"Having all-inclusive packages removes the stress of finding change for the cable car, for example, and other small purchases.

"Ladies can travel without having to worry about anything. All they need to think about is spending money and setting their alarms for breakfast."

Tracey has organised four trips to Hong Kong and plans to expand to include America and Melbourne tours.

Penny Flynn travelled with Tracey to Hong Kong two years ago and said the experience was life-changing.

As host, Tracey escorts the groups and arranges everything for the five-day tours in advance.

"I like to arrive a few days ahead of the tour just to make sure everything is taken care of," she said.
