SUN, surf, sand and seafood will be the key ingredients in a banquet Sunshine Coast tourism bosses hope the rest of Australia finds too tempting to resist.

From 5.30am tomorrow the Coast will be on show to a huge audience as the crew from The Today Show broadcast live from Moffat Beach.

Presenters Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson and Richard Wilkins will fly into the Coast today to begin discovering why the region is so popular.

The council has partnered with Sunshine Coast Airport, Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd and Tourism and Events Queensland to bring the breakfast show to the Coast during its We Love Australia tour.

Mayor Mark Jamieson said the visit was a "real coup".

"It's a great chance to promote a range of our business and tourism opportunities," he said.

"The program has a daily audience of 350,000 people and I understand up to four million viewers watch at least five minutes of the show each week.

"They will be given a close-up of our beautiful hinterland and beaches and a taste of our spectacular food culture."

Spicers Clovely executive chef Cameron Matthews will cook up a seafood barbecue breakfast for the Today Show team tomorrow, using fresh seafood markets and hinterland produce.

Karl will also get his hands dirty milking cows from Maleny Dairies.

Body art and yoga demonstrations will highlight next month's Australian Body Art Festival and Wanderlust events and the region's natural beauty and activities will be highlighted, including the Glasshouse Mountains, surfing, swimming with the whales and trekking in our national parks.

"We are very confident that, like so many visitors, they will have a fantastic experience and will want to come back for more," Cr Jamieson said.

The Mayor will join Olympian Lisa Curry and Today Show host Lisa Wilkinson on The Grill segment to discuss the Coast.
