WHAT should happen to the idiots who trashed a Sunshine Coast sporting club's equipment on the weekend?

Coolum Football Club had only finished building goals for a six-a-side when someone came to their fields and destroyed them.

Hayley Norris posted on a Facebook community page that someone had come to the fields and destroyed the goal posts.

She has pleaded for help for anyone who may have seen something suspicious.

"If anyone was driving past and think they may have seen something or if you have any information please contact the Coolum Football club's Facebook or contact me through Facebook," she said.

"We as a club try and help the community where we can, we hope people could do the same for us."

Several people have come up with suggestions of the punishment these kind of thoughtless vandals deserve.

Debbie Bell hoped they would be "caught and punished" while Susan Morgan suggested they should do community service.
