Vehicle seized in Caloundra hit and run

A VEHICLE has been seized as police investigate a hit and run on the main street of Caloundra.

Caloundra police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Gavin Ricketts said a man aged in his 20s came into the station late on Friday afternoon to help officers with their inquiries.

Snr Sgt Ricketts said the Caloundra man's car was seized by the forensic crash unit.

"His car is undergoing forensic examination," Snr Sgt Ricketts said.

Officers had seized a vehicle found in Minchinton St about dawn on Friday but after being examined, it was cleared of involvement.

A man aged in his 30s suffered serious head and chest injuries after being run over in Bulcock St shortly after midnight on Friday morning.

Witnesses said he was lying on the road when a car ran over him.

He this afternoon remained in a critical condition in Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Snr Sgt Ricketts said no charges had yet been laid over the incident.
