WARNING: RACQ's message for Queensland drivers after crashes

QUEENSLAND'S peak motoring body is reminding drivers to remain vigilant when behind the wheel after RACQ LifeFlight crews were called to attend three serious road crashes in 24 hours.

One of the most serious, a single vehicle crash at Somerset Dam yesterday morning, may have been caused by heavy fog, RACQ warn.

Two young women were injured after their car hit an embankment at 6.40am.

Two teenage patients were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition to receive treatment for multiple injuries.

A 30- year-old man was the next to receive medical attention after the four wheel drive he was in lost control south of Bundaberg yesterday.

A patient also had to be freed from the vehicle, suffering head injuries and multiple fractures.

Late yesterday afternoon, RACQ LifeFlight was called to a crash on the New England Highway near Nobby where they arrived to find emergency service crews attempting to free the driver from a vehicle which had flipped.

The patient was treated for neck and head injuries before being flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
