WATCH THE REPLAY: Logan Thunder v RedCity Roar in QSL

League newcomers RedCity Roar have sprung an upset in the opening round of the Queensland State League basketball competition after their superstars dominated to beat the Logan Thunder.

Four months after the inaugural NBL1 North competiiton was meant to tip-off, elite basketball was back in Queensland and it returned with a bang with traditional heavyweights, Logan hosting RedCity at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Both sides boasted star-studded sides in the men and women and it was their star trio of Harry Froling, William McDowell-White and Verle Williams Jr who led the Roar to a famous victory.

RedCity got off to a fast start, leading 20-2, with Froling finding his way to the basket and hitting from the perimeter before McDowell-White and Williams Jr followed suit.

From there, the Thunder couldn't chase them down despite fighting back to single digits late in the first half.
