Wiggins takes time trial crown

TOUR de France winner Bradley Wiggins has secured gold in the men's time trial at the London Olympics.

The pre-race favourite was a model of consistency on the roads of London, finishing in time of 50:39.54.

Germany's Tony Martin claimed silver, while Wiggins' teammate Christopher Froome finished third.

Australia's Michael Rogers finished in sixth position.
