Woman trapped under Sydney bus dies

A WOMAN who was trapped after being hit by a bus in Sydney yesterday has died.

Emergency services were called to  the scene of the accident just before 4pm yesterday, where they found the woman trapped.

A 53-year-old woman was underneath the bus for close to two hours before being rescued and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

She died  a few hours later .

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command and Central Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and are investigating the incident.

The bus driver, a 70-year-old man, was not injured but was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
