What was your first job? I worked at Coles (Mt Ommaney).
What lesson did you learn that you keep with you today? Diversify your skills to become more valuable to your employer.
What did you buy with your first pay? A pair of Nike Air shoes.
How long did the job last? Seven years - 15 to 21.
What hours did you work? Thurs 5-9pm, Sat 8am-6pm. Dawn fill 5am to 8am.
Which of your friends had the best job - one you were envious of? My friend who worked at Myer. He had a much cruisier job.
What was your uniform? White business shirt and long black pants.
Best part of your job? Worst? Best part - Collecting my pay (real cash in envelopes). Worst part - scrubbing the hardened blood off the butcher's equipment.
What were your duties? A checkout 'chick', a dairy boy, cleaning the butcher's trays on Saturdays, and dawn fill (5am to 8am).
How much were you paid an hour? I was getting $4.20.
