World Cup draw for Jillaroos revealed

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Australian women's team, the Jillaroos, has drawn the Cook Islands, England and Canada in their opening matches of the historic women's World Cup next year.

All these games will be played at Cronulla's home ground, Shark Park, where the Aussies are expected to play their semi-final.

The final will be part of a double header with the men's final at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on December 2.

The Jillaroos will play the Cook Islands in their opener on November 16, England on November 19 and Canada on November 22.

"Interest in women's rugby league has never been greater and we want this tournament to provide a platform to showcase these world-class athletes and inspire others to follow in their footsteps," World Cup chief executive Andrew Hill said.

"The two pools are evenly matched and lends itself perfectly to exciting rugby league."
