Ipswich, Kingaroy, Oakey among coldest spots in Queensland
SHIVERS and scarves across Queensland are justified this Tuesday morning, with the thermometer plunging to the lowest level since winter last year.
Brisbanetimes reports the overnight temperature for Brisbane was just 5.7 degrees - the lowest since August 19 last year - while Coolangatta hit 4 degrees and Ipswich plummeted to 0.8 degrees, according to senior forecaster with the Bureau of Meteorology Lauren Murphy.
But Ms Murphy said a thought should be spared for the people of Oakey where the mercury dropped to minus 3.1 degrees.
"Yes, it was the coldest morning since last winter," she said.
Kingaroy was even cooler with the bureau's observations recording -0.8 degrees at 7.34am.
And more of the same is forecast for tomorrow as dry conditions continue through to Wednesday for the State of Origin game.
